All Amtrak train service between Portland and Seattle is cancelled until Saturday, December 9 at 7:22 a.m. with alternative transportation provided. Trains operating between Portland and Eugene, and Seattle and Vancouver, BC, will operate normally. This is due to a BNSF Railway passenger train moratorium following landslides.

Full, normal train service resumes Wednesday morning. Buses will be provided for all trains between Seattle and Portland through Tuesday. If you have questions, consult your online reservation or call 1-800-USA-RAIL for details on alternative travel options. All trains are running normally between Seattle and Vancouver, BC, and Portland and Eugene, OR.

Trains will resume service Thursday morning, March 16. All train service north of Seattle and south of Portland is operating normally. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Due to a landslide, BNSF has issued a 48-hour moratorium for trains north of Seattle this weekend. Unfortunately, no bus companies have extra buses available. We apologize for any inconvenience. Trains will resume Monday morning.

Due to the extreme heat forecast, Amtrak Cascades trains will travel at slower speeds due to heat restrictions. Railroad tracks can shift slightly in extreme heat and precautions are necessary. Slower speeds will affect train schedules. Please be patient. Thank you!
