On Thursday, September 4, 2014
Passengers traveling to and from King Street Station in Seattle on September 4 will encounter significant traffic congestion and street closures in and around King Street Station due to NFL events, concerts, and the Seahawks season opener. Expect high volumes of automobiles and pedestrians that will affect passengers’ ability to access and depart the station from early morning through late evening.
Allow Extra Travel Time
Passengers are strongly urged to allow an extra hour of travel time to arrive at the station prior to their train or bus departure.
Getting to the Station
The only route for vehicles into King Street Station is on Second Avenue South to King Street. Second Avenue South can be accessed from the east on S. Washington Street, S. Main Street or S. Jackson Street. That route will experience maximum capacity of pedestrians and automobiles.
Alternate pedestrian access to King Street Station will be available from the Jackson Street Plaza adjacent to the station on the corner of 4th and Jackson St. There is an elevator and stairs available inside the station that will bring passengers down to the waiting room and to the doors to the track. Amtrak is working closely with the City of Seattle to maintain access for Amtrak passengers to King Street Station.

If you plan on traveling on September 4, and do not currently have a ticket, please make your reservation now. All trains and buses will sell out during these events and reservations are necessary.
