Baggage Policy
Amtrak is enforcing the baggage policy for the safety and comfort of our
passengers. Please note that if the quantity, size or weight of baggage
exceeds limits, it will not be accepted aboard the train. Questions? Please
review
Amtrak's baggage guidelines or contact Amtrak at 1-800-USA-RAIL
(1-800-872-7245).
Carry-on baggage
Two pieces per passenger only, each of which may not exceed 28” x 22” x
14” or 50 lbs. (Purses, briefcases, laptop cases, diaper bags, strollers, car
seats, cosmetic cases, or equipment required for a medical condition do not
count toward this limit).
All baggage, both carry-on and checked, must be visibly tagged with your name
and address. Amtrak staff has baggage tags available if you need them. Carry-on
purses, briefcases, laptop cases, diaper bags, strollers, car seats, cosmetic
cases, or equipment required for a medical condition do not need name/address
tags.
Amtrak Cascades standard coach and Business Class cars offer storage for
carry-on bags in overhead bins or baggage closets. Safety rules require that
all bags be stowed in designated baggage areas and kept out of aisles,
walkways, and vestibules. Please bring only luggage you can lift overhead
without assistance.
Checked Baggage
Three pieces per passenger only, each of which may not exceed 50 lbs. Up
to three additional pieces may be checked; a service charge applies.
Special items (such as skis, golf bags and surfboards) must be properly packed;
a service charge for special items may apply.
All baggage, both carry-on and checked, must be visibly tagged with your name
and address. Amtrak staff has baggage tags available if you need them.
